Our story
Fundment was founded to remove the fragmentation between advice, portfolio implementation, custody and client servicing. In the UK, we built our own open architecture platform and developed a connected platform through which advisory firms can open accounts, manage investments, execute transactions, report to clients and operate their businesses. More than 1,300 advisory firms now use Fundment’s UK platform. We are bringing that experience to the United States to build a self-clearing custodian and operating platform around the needs of independent RIAs.
Why the US needs another custodian
Independent advice continues to evolve but much of the infrastructure supporting it was designed for a different era. We find that RIAs increasingly want to launch new propositions, personalize portfolios, serve more complex households and use technology as a source of differentiation. That requires a custodian capable of becoming part of the firm’s operating model rather than remaining a disconnected utility.
What we have already learned
Building and operating a regulated wealth platform has taught us that custody and technology cannot be designed separately. Account opening affects transitions. Portfolio construction affects trading. Trading affects books and records. Books and records affect reporting. Connected data can also surface opportunities for organic growth. Every operational break ultimately affects the advisor and client experience. Fundment is designed around those connections.
Established experience. US specific infrastructure.
Fundment US is not a copy of the UK platform. It combines Fundment's technology, operating experience and product philosophy with custody, clearing, regulatory and investment infrastructure designed specifically for the United States.
Why firms are engaging early
Ahead of our U.S. launch we are speaking with RIAs, breakaway teams and wealth firms to gather feedback on their custody arrangements, technology environments, investment capabilities and transition needs. These conversations are helping us better understand the U.S. market and shape our offering around the real-world needs of advisers and wealth firms.
